The Qabalah Workbook for Magicians by Anita Kraft

The
Qabalah Workbook for Magicians by Anita Kraft. 165 pgs.

What
a delightful and informative occult work.

I
love reading about and studying the Qabalah, and especially finding
new ways to incorporate the Tree of Life into my ritual
practice.

Especially
through the medium of Planetary Magick.

I
enjoyed the foreword by Lon Milo DuQuette, he always tickles my funny
bone, and I believe a sense of humour is one of the magician\"s
greatest weapons. His story of the Mercury ritual from his amazing
autobiography Low Magick still makes me laugh to this day.

Here
the author Anita Kraft, an accomplished Qabalist, magician and a
Bishop in the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica has crafted a book that
sets out the ten Sephiroth of the Tree of Life into monthly lessons.
You will construct an altar with the correspondences of each Sephira
from Kether to Malkuth, learning how to harness each sphere\"s colour, perfumes, tarot cards (from Crowley\"s Thoth deck),
precious stones, clothing and magickal weapons.

Anita
separates the Ten Sephiroth into four parts: The Supernal Triad
(Kether, Chokmah and Binah/Saturn), The Second Triad (Tiphareth/Sol,
Chesed/Jupiter and Geburah/Mars) and the Third Triad (Netzach/Venus,
Hod/Mercury and Yesod/Luna), and finally The Gateway: Malkuth (Earth)

As
you make your way down the Tree, it gives you the opportunity to
discover the ways to harness each sphere in your life, and decipher
their secrets to construct rituals of your own making for your
spiritual growth.

Two
important points I took away from this book were the following:

  1. Even
though Chokmah (Wisdom/Force) and Binah (Understanding/Form) are
studied separately in theory, they are truly never meant to be
    separated in
practice. The Union of these two Sephira gives birth
to Tiphareth (Beauty) which is the sphere of the Sun/Sol, and also of
    the Redeemer. When you
practice such ceremonial rituals as the LBRP,
this centre is where you harness most of your spiritual energy.

  2. In
regards to the Sephira Hod/Splendour/Mercury, a lot of magicians
find themselves spending a lot of time here, and some never leave.
This is the domain of the armchair occultist. For a magician to
flourish, they must embrace the Sephira before it:  Netzach/Victory/Venus for if Hod is the play then Netzach is the
performance, and if you don\"t practise, you will never grow as a
magician, and never truly experience MAGICK.

I
thoroughly recommend this work, and whether you just read it from
front to back and gain a greater gnosis of the Tree of Life, or spend the time to work through all of the Sephira,
not only will you come away with a greater understanding of the Tree
of Life, but a greater understanding of yourself.

A great guide to
help you fulfil the Great Work.
